The game director of games like NieR and Drakengard is working on a new project for Square Enix.
In a live stream on NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139, producer Yosuke Saito revealed that his colleague Yoko Taro is working on a new project as Game Director for Square Enix.
The game is said to be a smaller production that is only intended for digital distribution. However, Square Enix does not want to rule out a commercial version.
Taro himself still seems to be having trouble making it palatable to players with his new project. In any case, he still lacks the right explanation to describe his game. However, it should be “weird”, “unusual” and “nostalgic and new”.
After all, the company’s employees are said to have already certified that the game will sell well.
Monthly updates for the game are still being discussed. An announcement and further information, however, could even be given in the next few days.
