It’s official: the cult sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” has an offshoot starring Hilary Duff. Netzwelt reveals everything about the exciting new series.

7 years ago, the cult sitcom flickered “How I Met Your Mother“about Ted Mosby’s search for great love for the last time on the TV screens. And now there is finally something new for fans: the US streaming service Hulu has ordered an offshoot to the cult series that has the beautiful title “How I Met Your Father” will wear.

Takes the main role in the upcoming spin-off consisting of 10 episodes “Younger“-Star Hilary Duffwhose character will be named Sophie (via TVLine).

The near future: Sophie (Hilary Duff) tells her son the story how she met his father. The narrative takes viewers back to 2021, where Sophie and her friends want to find out who they are, what they want out of life and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and unlimited possibilities, as stated in the official description of the new one Show is called “How I Met Your Father”.

Behind the now announced spin-off are the “This Is Us“Authors and producers Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker. How I Met Your Mother” series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are also on board as executive producers.

It is currently unclear whether the new series will have a substantive connection to “How I Met Your Mother”. A start date for the show that has now been announced is also not yet known.
