With Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Cold War, the time has come for a new, major update. On 21/22 Season 3 started on April 2021 and, as the past has shown, there are usually download problems and overloaded servers.

So that you can play on the Battle.net server despite the onslaught, we give you a few tips that can help with one or the other problem. However, there is one rule of thumb that should always be observed: in most cases, all you can do is wait and enjoy any hot drink.

General tips

Of course, there are a number of general solutions to problems. You can try your Improve Internet Connection Using These Tricks:

  • Restart the router

  • Check your own Internet speed with Speedtest to rule out external problems

Remove download limit

You can set your download rate in the settings of the Battle.net client. If you choose 0 (stands for unlimited), the client should then use your maximum available bandwidth.

Change region in Battle.net

The download rate in the Battle.net client is linked to the respective region. Fortunately, you can change these very quickly and easily:

  • pauses the download in progress
  • changes the region from “Europe” to “America” ​​in the client interface
  • starts the download again

After restarting the download, you may notice an improvement in the download speed. But there is no guarantee for this.

Use VPN

If you use a VPN, it may be worthwhile if you connect to a server in a country where there is currently no heavy internet usage. With the help of the world clock you can find out where it is, for example, in the middle of the night.

If you have then connected to such a server, restart the Battle.net client and start the download. An improvement in download speed should quickly become apparent.

CoD update is a bit more moderate

A high download speed is almost mandatory for the current Call of Duty games. Even if with Season 3 for Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Cold War the updates are a bit more moderate than last:

  • CoD: Warzone for PC: 25,2 GByte
  • CoD: Cold War for PC: 13,1 GByte
