Raven Software has confirmed that the original Call of Duty Warzone Verdansk map is gone forever.

Yesterday saw the long-awaited nuclear event finally materialize, and today a new map of Warzone was born from the ruins: Verdansk ’84. And according to Raven’s Associate Creative Director Amos Hodge (via: PC Gamer), the new version of Verdansk is here to stay. “Players will never visit present-day Verdansk again,” Hodge told members of the press for the launch of Warzone season 3 improvements in life. “

Despite taking place in the same geographic region, Verdansk ’84 is a major revamp of the Warzone map we’ve known about in the 13 months since the free Call of Duty battle royale was released.

The new map includes 7 completely new locations and 5 existing locations redesigned with a new design. Gora Summit, based on the multiplayer map of Black Ops, replaces Dam in the north of the map, while the salt mines of Krast have taken over Quarry. As you enter, you will notice the monolithic grid matrix, and then the old mine in the northwest corner of the map, the aircraft factory in the center, new versions of the Verdansk airport and stadium, and a center, shop, and farm field redesigned.
