Almost two years ago, Apple announced its Apple Card, an Apple credit card integrated with Apple Pay that offers its users a series of benefits. However, although the Apple Card has been operational since its launch in the United States, it has yet to reach any Spanish-speaking country.
When will the Apple Card arrive in Latin America and Europe?
According to forecasts from various media, it is estimated that the Apple Card could reach more countries from September or October 2021. This news would be announced at the famous Apple event in September, with the arrival of the new iPhone.
However, there is still no official information confirming that the Apple Card will arrive in Europe or Latin America on these dates. What we do know for sure is that we will have to continue to wait several more months.
Why does it take so long to get the Apple card in Europe?
To make the Apple Card work, Apple needs a banking partner in the relevant country. This means that the coverage of the Apple card in each country will depend on negotiations with the different banking entities.
However, it is possible that the negotiation takes place with the European Union as a whole rather than country by country. This is something that would speed up the wait considerably.
What advantages does the Apple card offer?
When you own an Apple Card, you get a digital version in the form of an app on your iPhone, as well as a physical version i.e. a titanium credit card. Some of the benefits of the Apple Card are that it returns 3% of the amount you spend to purchase its products or services, 2% if you use Apple Pay, and 1% when you don’t.
The Wallet application allows you to perfectly manage your expenses, income and purchases, thanks to a fairly intuitive history. Like other similar services, Apple Card will also have funding options in case you want to pay for something in installments.
