Come to America
At the top of his game after that Trading venues, two Beverly Hills Cop films and his legendary (if not controversial) stand-up concert film RawEddie Murphy turned to the story of a rich, famous young prince from the African nation of Zamunda who longs for a normal life. In contrast to his tough R-rated comedy Come to America is an unexpectedly sweet, level-headed rom-com where the open-minded prince navigates the ups and downs of Queens, New York in search of the perfect woman. It’s also the film that got Murphy to play multiple roles in a single film. He and Arsenio Hall slip into old makeup and jerry curl wigs to play a variety of supporting characters that bring more laughs than Murphy’s Prince Akeem Joffer. The comedian must be nostalgic for this experience – Come to America leaves Amazon just a few weeks after the release of the long-awaited sequel, Coming 2 Americathat remains exclusive as Amazon. -TO

You’d be a lot cooler if you did that. -TO

The dark knight
So I didn’t want to see that movie, but then I found out that Eric Roberts, the star of The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside ”music video, played a villain in it and I just had to see what it was like. It turns out he’s great! Roberts really channels that brightside energy as Sal Maroni, a nervous Gotham City gangster who got into tough times after a man in a bat suit made it difficult for him to make a living. So he hires an independent contractor who dresses like a clown (this movie is not just about crime but the gig economy, which is similar) to solve his problem, and it turns out that freelancer don’t actually fret Good health insurance and paid free time – something the movie is a little on the nose about when the Joker (they really call him that! Wild.) threatens to blow up a hospital and some boats, but it does mostly works in context.
It’s really surprising how much Crackerjack director Christopher Nolan has done with The dark knightwhen you consider that no one is really having a good time in it. (Well, a person is, but we shouldn’t be referring to it.) If you are unsure about whether to check out this one, I would carefully recommend that you reconsider because you will likely enjoy it ! It’s true, the “Batman” is a little ridiculous to look at and his voice is incredibly silly, but also: this costume is probably extremely uncomfortable! I wouldn’t be very kind in that either! Something to think about. – –Joshua Rivera

The Omen
Two years before the 1978 comic film was defined SupermanDirector Richard Donner made one of the most important films in the horror genre: The Omen. Designed in the wake of The exorcistThe story revolves around the birth of the Antichrist … and the two parents who were assigned by fate to raise him. Starring Gregory Peck and Lee Remick as two head-turning adults trying to understand their morbid situation, and young Harvey Spencer Stephens as the creepy, creepy one creepy Damian, Donner finds a way into almost every kind of horror pleasure. There are gruesome kills, menacing supernatural dangers, and a sense of cosmic decryption – thanks in large part to Jerry Goldsmith’s legendary score – that brings an existential cooling to the spine. Spirituality itself comes under attack The Omen. – –Matt patches

The prestige
Nolans 2006 The prestigeSimilar to a magic trick, it consists (roughly) of three parts or actions. The first part is the exhibition in which we are introduced to the protagonists of the film in the form of two rival illusionists played by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale in order to become the greatest living magician of their time. The second part is the premise in which things turn sour after a devastating accident on stage and the two men find themselves on a lifelong collision course that turns their professional rivalry into a dangerous blood feud. The third part is the climax where the film captures everything we imagined knew about these characters and turning those assumptions upside down to create the greatest cinematic twist in Christopher Nolan’s career. Oh, and David Bowie is dressed up like Nikola Tesla here. Are you watching closely -TO
