Chivalry II, is a highly anticipated sequel by many multiplayer fans. It is not for less, this second part wants to bring all the good of the original but improved work. Developped by Torn Banner Studios, a multiplayer title loaded with action, steel, courage and a lot of fun is coming to our consoles. And is that, in case you do not know the saga, we are faced with a game that takes us to a medieval battlefield where armed with a generous arsenal we will have to eliminate our enemies. This last point usually ends with occasional dismemberment or beheading, so we assure you that the blood reaches our screens.
The official launch of this second tranche is scheduled for June 8. However, thanks to the chicks of Koch Media, we were able to access its closed beta, which allowed us to get an idea of the news of this second opus. And we are already anticipating that our first few hours left us with a very good taste in our mouths.
Learn to fight
First of all, the game gives us the opportunity to learn to play through a comprehensive tutorial. In this sense, it may have the appearance of a simple game, but the reality is that we are facing a really complex game, so it is appreciated that such a comprehensive tutorial is included. During the tutorial, we will learn both the most basic moves, as well as much more complex moves that will save our lives on several occasions.
In order not to go into details, the game offers us 3 different types of shots, which will be modified depending on the weapon we use. These hits in turn can be charged for a much more lethal outcome. However, We have an energy bar that will decrease as we charge hits or our enemies block us. In this sense, there are not too many changes from the original gasoline.
There are many options when in melee combat, beyond simple blocks we can perform counterattacks, aftershocks or dodges. All of this makes the game really good. It is a system that can be said to be easy to learn, but difficult to master.. A perfect template for a multiplayer title like this.
At war
Putting these questions aside, Chivalry II invites us to the premiere of the change to enter medieval skirmishes that have unparalleled scope. In this closed beta, the game offers us two game modes. On the one hand, we have the classic team duel, where we will only have to finish our opponents with blows. On the other hand, we have a much deeper proposition, where we will have to meet a series of team goals..
These goals already in their beta give us the potential that this can achieve Chivalry II. With games of up to 64 players, we will have to perform sieges of fortresses, protect and repel siege towers, capture positions, etc. All of this comes with an interesting class system that inevitably reminds us of what we see in other titles such as Battlefield.
Chivalry II is solid as steel
Also, already in technical terms, Chivalry II, it’s a title that looks really good. And that’s it, he has a technical section as solid as the steel of his characters. Graphically, the game has some fantastic designs, both for the characters and the settings. The four scenarios that we were able to enjoy in this beta, are very different from each other, leading the player to experience all kinds of fights. Likewise, the brutality that already characterized his first opus is more present than ever in this sequel. The dismemberments, beheadings and other mutilations are a real visceral spectacle.
This fantastic graphics section comes with great fluidity and top performance, where you will never notice any type of drop in FPS. Likewise, to dress this item up we have to mention that its sound section feels up to the task. The sound of steels colliding with armor, meat or swords, feel great and are a fundamental point for immersion in combat of Chivalry II.
Finally, we must emphasize that the game He’s given us a fantastic performance in this closed beta, both technically and in his online games, which we’ve been able to enjoy with virtually no mishaps and no hint of lag. Something very to take into account, because we are not only talking about a beta, but also Chivalry II He has active cross-play, which means we have to applaud this good work on the part of the company even more. Finally, Chivalry IINot only does it meet expectations, but it manages to exceed them.
