It is common to be aware of the battery consumption of our devices when they receive a new version. The question is still the same, how does the iPhone with iOS xx hold the battery? Well it seems that this version of iOS 14.5 has a positive aspect in terms of battery life on older iPhones.
When we talk about older iPhones we mean iPhone 11, iPhone 8, and iPhone SE. The iPhone 12 being in theory more modern should not have any battery problems, but while it is true that the models before these iPhone 12 suffered a small battery consumption after the arrival of iOS 14, Will the high battery consumption issues have been resolved with the new iOS 14.5?
The arrival of iOS 14.4 resolves some autonomy problems of these devices but this new version seems to have improved this duration a little more. At least this is demonstrated in a video created by iAppleBytes, in which They compare the battery consumption of the iPhone SE, 6S, 7, 8, XR, 11 and SE 2020 with the RC version which is the latest.
In that case iPhone 11 achieved a battery life of 5 hours and 54 minutes with iOS 14.5 installed, while the same test on iOS 14.4 the battery lasted 5 hours 33 minutes. But on the other hand iPhone XR it lasted 5 hours and 10 minutes on iOS 14.5 compared to 5 hours and 28 minutes on iOS 14.4.
It is better to watch the whole video and check the autonomy of the rest of the models but it seems that not everyone was happy with the arrival of iOS 14.5 as it happened when it was released on iOS 14. Some models seem to have lost some autonomy compared to previous versions, but it’s not too much, so let’s hope that Apple will manage to adjust this autonomy to the maximum in its iPhone.
