Have you ever wondered what’s in the new Star Wars canon Luke Skywalkers Hand Happened after she was cut off in Episode 5 – The Empire Strikes Back? The latest Darth Vader comic now provides an answer, strongly suggesting links to the creation of Snoke.

Be ready from this point on Spoilers for the Star Wars comic Darth Vader # 11 warned by Marvel!

What the new Vader comic reveals

The current Marvel comic about Darth Vader, which canonically take place between episode 5 and episode 6, reports on a new conflict between Vader and Palpatine. In the course of this, the student ends up on the Sith planet known from episode 9 for the first time Exegeticallywhere he learns more about his master’s plans.

For example, the fleet of star destroyers is revealed, which is capable of destroying entire planets – here Darth Vader # 11 obviously builds a bridge to The Rise of Skywalker. For fans, however, the more exciting detail should undoubtedly be that a secret from The Empire Strikes Back is revealed in the new canon.

While Vader trudges through the Exegol catacombs, he not only finds a whole pallet of containers full of Snoke clones: a severed right hand can be seen in one of the vessels. It is not spoken directly, but the assumption is that it is Luke Skywalker’s hand, which was severed by Vader.

Because fans should always bear in mind: In Star Wars, a lot is communicated between the lines and why should an arbitrary hand from Palpatine be stowed on Exegol and become so obviously in the focus of Vader in the course of the comic?

What conclusions does this allow? In view of this revelation, there is speculation about what Palpatine does or tries to do by hand. For example, a clone of Luke Skywalker would be one possibility – the body part is also believed to have played a role in the creation of Snoke.

With this, some fans suspect that Snoke is ultimately an evil and corrupted clone version of Luke Skywalker. And that’s exciting in that Ben Solo originally tried to escape his Jedi master during his transformation into Kylo Ren, only to end up under the wing of his evil reflection.

Not one hundred percent clear: However, fans should definitely note that these are mere hints that are deliberately kept vague in the Marvel comic! It cannot be ruled out that the panels shown are interpreted too much – the imagination of Star Wars fans is known to know no limits.

However, the fact is that Disney currently often and gladly provides subsequent explanations for decisions made in the films, which are sometimes more and sometimes less happy. For example, when the kiss between Rey and Ben Solo was later declared “non-romantic”.

It remains to be seen how Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber ended up in the hands of Maz Kanata. So far it has only been revealed that the weapon almost fell into the arms of a scrap-collecting Ugnaught in Cloud City.

Luke’s lost hand in the old canon

It wouldn’t be the first time Luke Skywalker’s severed hand has been used for sinister machinations in The Empire Strikes Back: In the old canon, the mad Joruus C’baoth used the same to create an evil clone of Luke that targets the (pretty creative) Luuke Skywalker heard. Luuke was then later killed by Mara Jade.

The new Star Wars canon uses elements of the old canon again and again – prime examples of this would be the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn and of course that of Palpatine himself. The fact that the current Darth Vader comic is now once again picking up on well-known ideas is therefore not too far-fetched.
