This year, Gamescom, one of the leading European events for the video game industry, was to take place online and in physics. Finally, the 2021 edition will have the same shape as the previous one, namely entirely in digital format. In addition, we knew the planned transmission window without confirmation. It is done now. Gamescom will officially take place between August 25th and 27th.
Geoff Keighley has also confirmed his return for the opening ceremony.
This year @gamescom everything will be digital again.
It starts with Opening Night Live, which I will be producing again on Wednesday, August 25th – as a free live stream for everyone around the world.

This year’s Gamescom will be fully online again. It will debut Live on Opening Night, which I will be producing again on Wednesday, August 25th – a free live broadcast to everyone around the world.
For its part, Koelnmesse, the organizer of Gamescom, issued a press release in which it explained its choice. Everything digital was decided according to the wishes of the various stakeholders and in connection with the current health situation.
Koelnmesse has decided to turn Gamescom 2021 into a fully digital event. This decision was made after long discussions with partners and exhibitors. The organizers are taking into account the current situation in which too many companies will not be able to take part in physical events this year due to the difficult situation.
Developers can meet for professional meetings during the week of August 23rd. For example, independent studios can meet potential publishers and investors.
As a reminder, just like last year Gamescom is free for all viewers. Summer is slowly taking shape and promises to be full of announcements and revelations! The festivities start, probably just before June 12th and the start of E3!
