Summer is coming and the season is coming where we can probably enjoy more free time. Why not take advantage of the audiovisual catalog of video streaming platforms? Today, Apple has just released the purchase of a new documentary for Apple TV +, and it is that documentaries are more and more popular. Soon we will be able to see Big Man on Campus, the new Apple TV + story centered on NBA star Makur Maker.
As we tell you, Apple has just confirmed the purchase of Big man on campus a documentary series directed by Seth Gordon that brings us the story of Makur Maker. For those who don’t know him, Makur Maker is an NBA star who decided in 2020 to play basketball to support the racial changes that have taken place over the past year.
“Big Man on Campus” is the story of a historic moment in America told through the vision of a young athlete with the power to create change. In 2020, a year marked by social unrest, basketball sensation, NBA hiatus, and NCAA top pick, Makur Maker, made the revolutionary decision to play college basketball for Howard University in support of historically black colleges and universities rather than joining one of the many top programs that give you a full career. Balancing extraordinary pressures both on and off the pitch, and with the nation’s eyes focused on its every move, Maker’s journey – from fleeing war-torn South Sudan as a child to the movement that ‘he sparked today – put a face to America’s socio-political complexities during this unprecedented time.
As you can see, it’s all a documentary of intentions, Apple is following the trail set out in previous occasions of its social engagement, and today a story like this is the best they can throw. There is no release date yet but as soon as we find out, we’ll leave it to you in a new post. And you, Are you more documentaries or fiction?
