return‘s The latest patch is out today and while it isn’t the first update for the new PlayStation 5 exclusive, it is the first time developer Housemarque has released patch notes. They’re pretty thin, but they deal with various crashes that players have experienced, as well as some other improvements.
Patch 1.3.3 does not go into detail, but introduces “Multiple stability fixes for rare crashes / hangups”. These crashes included everything from soft locks to full game crashes, all of which sting even more The severe lack of a memory function at Returnal.
The patch also includes an increase in the number of scout corpses: return properties a decent concept, no different from that Souls Games where you can interact with other players’ dead corpses, see how their deaths played out, and potentially receive rewards for doing so. These should be more common in all six biomes after today’s patch. Of course, that depends on how many players actually unlocked all six biomes. According to the trophy list on PS5, only 15.3 percent of players even defeated Nemesis, the relentlessly challenging third boss. (Speaking of which, Patch 1.3.3 fixes “an issue where certain trophies may not unlock under certain game conditions,” but notes that you have to replay missing trophies to unlock them.)
This is not the first patch for return since the game was released. Like most games, it got a patch for the first day. And between Sunday night and Monday morning, the game was updated for the second time, triggering a run that I had paused via the PS5’s “sleep mode” feature – according to the developer’s instructions – a result I swear I’m not bitter . (Okay, maybe I’m a little bitter about it.)
It’s not clear what exactly was pushed live in these previous updates. There were no official notes and the PS5 System-level patch notes are not described in detail. When reached for comment, Sony representative, returnThe editor just said that the update didn’t receive any detailed patch notes from day one.
