The developers describe the ‘game director’ as an artificial intelligence who will use a deck of ‘corruption’ cards to create special conditions in the game. These can be the appearance of rare zombies, create a blackout that forces us to play in the dark or create special challenges, such as reaching a point on the map in a limited time. The ‘game director’ is supposed to monitor the health, actions and strategies of the players of Back 4 Blood to modify the world around him.

But players can fight back with their own decks. Before starting a game of Back 4 Blood, we can combine the cards we have to obtain advantages. These can boost the damage of the explosions, make it easier for us to eliminate certain types of zombies or even heal us by attacking in certain ways. In this way we will create special ‘builds’ that we can adapt to each situation.

As we play, we will obtain ‘supply points’ (supply points) that we can spend to obtain more cards or cosmetic items.
