Apple surprised us all by presenting its new iMac, and more than the new design, the surprise came from the colors in which the company’s new computer is available. This is not the first time that the iMac has been available in different colors, the original model already had them, but yes the first time in a long time. And it looks like it won’t be the only color Mac.
As Jon Prosser just pointed out, who has already disclosed that the new iMac will be available in different colors, the next MacBook Air will also arrive in many colors. He did not specify which ones since his source only told him he saw a blue MacBook, but it is more than likely that these are the same 7 colors of the iMac 2021.
This isn’t anything strange, just as the original iMac G3 was available in color, its portable alternative, the iBook, whose keynote presentation was quite a show directed by Steve Jobs, it was also available in these same colors.
Colors are coming back to Macs
For a long time, Apple used two or three basic colors in its Macs, but it seems that now this customization will be extended to the rest of the range, at least to the general public range. Likely a Mac aimed at processionaries, like a Mac Pro, newer MacBook Pro, and notional iMac Pro, will retain more serious options.
We’ve seen renderings of what the MacBook Air might look like with the colors of the new iMac before, and of course that that would be a great option, the Mac is something very personal and those colors would help in that line. Something similar to what Apple does with the iPad lineup and iPad Air colors.
No release date has been given for this new MacBook Air, although we know that it may be scheduled to arrive later this year. And it is likely to be accompanied by other Macs equipped, possibly the successor to the M1 chip.
