This year, the Apple TV + series had a big turnout during awards season. And while the Jason Sudeikis-starring comedy Ted Lassoo was a favorite among specialist critics, “Servant” was nominated for the TV Choice Awards, which recognize the series, according to the public vote.
“Servant” was nominated for a TV Choice Awards in the category of Best Drama Series, racking up another industry honor for the young platform in just over a year. The popular two-season thriller will face 62 contenders in the TV Choice category, which will be announced in June.
“Servant” is advertised as a psychological thriller which tells the story of a couple who suffered the tragic loss of their son and devoted themselves to caring for a doll for him. The show stars Lauren Ambrose, Rupert Grint, Nell Tiger Free and Toby Kebbell.
“The series follows a grieving Philadelphia couple after losing their son. Their baby, Jericho, is replaced with a reborn doll the mother believes to be real, and an odd babysitter, Leanne, is hired to look after the doll. After Leanne arrives, strange things start to happen in the family. “
“Servant” reportedly doubled its audience year on year with the Season 2 premiere in January, nearly matching platform stars “Defending Jacob” and “Ted Lasso”. Previously, “Servant” won a Golden Reel Award for sound editing in April and was nominated for a Saturn Award.
Like other hit Apple TV + series, “Servant” has also confirmed its third season. Information on the third season of Servant is still scarce, but its creator M. Night Shyamalan has confirmed via Twitter that the first episode of the third season has already been filmed.
