Skull & Bones: Release of pirate epic further delayed

Bones, delayed, Epic, Pirate, release, Skull

The pirate epic Skull & Bones was announced by Ubisoft back in 2017, but development has been anything but according to plan since then. The release of the title is now delayed further.

The originally planned release of Skull & Bones has long been a thing of the past and has meanwhile been postponed several times. Today Ubisoft officially announced new business figures and also took a look into the future. Unfortunately, it became clear: Skull & Bones is now a long time coming.

After an unconfirmed report last year that the development had been restarted after the previous announcement at E3 2017, it is now clear that no further release of the game is planned for the new financial year. Accordingly, Skull & Bones is only planned for the following financial year, which begins on April 1, 2022. The title could then, for example, be available for the Christmas business year 2022, but possibly not until the first quarter of 2023. In the worst case scenario, we will have to wait another two years for the release.

Ubisoft has postponed the release of Skull & Bones for the fourth year in a row. As a result, not many new details have really been made public. The pirate adventure should be based on an open game world and as the captain you can take control of a pirate ship on the Indian Ocean. A single player campaign as well as a PvP combat mode awaits you there. It remains to be seen whether this plan from that time will continue to exist in this respect.

In view of the new release time window, it will also be interesting to see whether PS4 and Xbox One will still be served with the title or whether Ubisoft will rely entirely on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. We will keep you up to date!
