On paper, it has a lot of features, almost all of it, in fact, that we ask from a high-end premium, but at a price that seems even lower than the conventional high-end.
ZTE has a normal high end close to the premium range
In recent years, we’ve seen how brands have made it clear that the high-end range is not the pinnacle of their catalog.
We have entry-level mobiles, which in the past were called low-end, mid-range mobiles, which serve most situations and users, high-end mobiles, with a price of around 800 or 900 dollars, and the premium or ultra high range, the prices of which are generally in four figures.
In all these categories there are exceptions, motives which bet on one approach to the detriment of another, etc.
However, so far we haven’t seen such a strong commitment from a brand to ask for the price of a high end, or something lower, and offer something more. similar to the high end premium.
The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra has two prices, and both very logical
When ZTE announced that there would be two variants, it also confirmed its pricing.
The most modest model will have 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, and it will cost 749 dollars. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S21 with this configuration costs 859 dollars.
The OPPO Find X3 Neo costs $ 819, although with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory it would look more like the 16 GB and 256 GB model from ZTE, which costs 849 dollars.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 costs 799 in its 8 and 256 GB variant, a mix between the two versions of the ZTE.
The OnePlus 9 is the only one to stay below its price tag of 709 dollars, although there are other sacrifices.
As you can see, the price range in which the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra operates is that of the high-end models, but it gives us much superior functionality.
Display and layout
This terminal promises to stand out in two ways. On the one hand, we have a screen with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, which we have only seen on gaming mobiles so far.
Yes, it is true that the panel is FHD and not QHD, but it is also true of all the models mentioned above with the exception of the Mi 11. And yes, we could compare the Mi 11i, but its finishes do not are not up to par the rest.
And that’s another question. The Samsung and OnePlus both use plastic bodies, and only OPPO and Xiaomi offer similar finishes to the ZTE.
A camera of another level
But where we see the most differences is in the camera system. ZTE opted for a setup reminiscent of the Vivo X51 for its dual optical zoom, or the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, although it doesn’t have as much zoom range.
There is no mobile with this power, memory and photographic versatility on the market today.
