Fate 2 Season start-ups are usually a reason to celebrate in the community, but players are already angry with the Season of the Splicer transmog system. People already had low expectations after the catastrophic reveal a few weeks ago. But worse, the system has proven incredibly difficult. It takes players 25 hours to fully transform all five items they are carrying.

fate 2The transmog system, called “Armor Synthesis” in the game, contains three different “Synth” materials: Synthstrand, Synthcord and Synthweave. The process starts by collecting 150 Synthstrand, which Guardians do by killing enemies in the wild or simply interacting with virtually every system in the game.

Then players spend all 150 Synthstrand on bounties from Ada-1, the armaments synthesis company. The bounty gives the players a random target – thematically based on the player’s choice between strikes, melting pot, gambit, goals or raids. When players reach the goal and hand in the bounty, they will receive 100 Synthcord.

The Guardians will then need to return to Ada-1 to hand in 100 Synthcord for Synthweave, which is color-coded based on the class the players are using when handing in the Synthcord. Players then use this Synthweave to unlock their favorite armor looks and turn them into “Universal Ornaments” that can override the look of any piece of armor without changing its stats. Typically, Guardians can only purchase 10 Synthweave per class per season, but Bungie gives players extra ones during the Season of the Splicer tutorial missions.

Bungie revealed this bizarre, multi-step process a few weeks before the Season of the Splicer. The limit of only 10 synthweave per season was the main cause of frustration, as was the number of hoops players had to jump through. This whole process is even more frustrating when you know that Bungie allows players to pay real money to bypass it all and purchase an unlimited amount of Synthweave.

But after Bungie officially launched the Season of the Splicer on Tuesday, players found the grind to be far worse than expected.

The main problem lies in the acquisition of Synthstrand. If you’re a Destiny gamer you know that collecting 150 of anything from enemies isn’t all that difficult. Guardians can mow down 100 or more enemies in a single 10-minute blow. However, after some testing, the players discovered that Synthstrand has a timer. Players get a Synthstrand every two minutes of battle time – this means they don’t have to do AFKing on a planet or in the tower to collect Synthstrand overnight.

Destiny data miner and owner of Today in fate, JpDeathBladetweeted some specific details about the system and its limitations.

We decided to test it for ourselves and have confirmed that it has nothing to do with player efficiency. We ran around the EDZ killing enemies left and right. Within two minutes we got two synth beaches – the first at the beginning of the two minutes and the second two minutes later. For our second experiment, we killed an enemy to get Synthstrand, AFK’d in Trostland Church, for exactly two minutes, and killed another enemy when the timer ran out. This second enemy dropped a synth beach. Both times exactly two minutes apart, confirming that players are not rewarded for killing more enemies.

Active players get 30 Synthstrand per hour, which gives them enough to buy a bounty every five hours. Players will thankfully continue to receive Synthstrand as they work on their new bounty, but the bounties themselves can have some lengthy goals.

Minus the time it takes to complete a bounty – since players always earn Synthstrand – it takes 25 hours for the Guardians to complete a fully transmoggied outfit with a helmet, arms, chest, legs and class items. If players want to complete two outfits or ten items – the seasonal maximum per class – it will take 50 hours. And players who want to transmog all 30 items per season, 10 for each of their three characters, will have to grind for 150 hours.

Like other games Diablo 3 They have a completely free transmog system where players pick up an item and it is instantly added to their transmog collection. The players then pay the mystic some gold in the game and change their appearance. World of Warcraft, an MMO like Destiny that requires a subscription, also offers Diablo-style armor transmog.

Destiny is technically a free game, but after Bungie removed much of the game’s content for the Destiny Content Vault last year, there isn’t much to do for players who don’t own the new season or a single expansion. Bungie’s new transmog system appears to be primarily geared towards making money in-store. With an extreme grind and resource limit, fashion conscious Guardians are strongly encouraged to purchase additional Synthweave.

This is different in a real free-to-play game like League of Legends, where Riot bills players for optional cosmetics and offers the option to spend real money on playable characters. They are extremely talented League of Legends Players who never spend money on the game. But to do a lot Fate 2 In 2021, players must have an expansion or season. Worse, Bungie treats his Players who own season and expansion are identical to their free players.

Since the original, players have asked Bungie for the option to upgrade their guardian’s appearance fate. But just a few days after starting Fate 2The first transmog system is an absolute disaster.

We reached out to Bungie about the controversy, but it is currently unclear whether the studio will correct the system in the future. At the moment, the frustration with the armaments synthesis system has dominated most of the conversation Fate 2otherwise it’s an exciting new season.
