EA Play Live: Digital Showcase not in June this time

Digital, June, Live, Play, Showcase, time

Due to the pandemic, a lot is different this year as well. In spite of everything, E3 should be back in June, but only in digital form. It is surprising, however, that EA does not hold its in-house accompanying event for the big US trade fair.

Electronic Arts has drawn up a new timetable for the pandemic year 2021. Accordingly, this time the publisher actually renounces to let its in-house event EA Play take place on the sidelines of E3. The US trade fair is planned to be purely digital this year, but will increase in the usual time window in mid-June. But that no longer applies to EA Play.

The EA Play Live event, which is also planned digitally, has now been scheduled by EA for a full month later than usual. The summer showcase will therefore not take place until July 22, 2021 – a very clear departure from the previous approach and the otherwise usual proximity to E3.

Overall, EA’s schedule seems to have been roughly pushed back by a month in terms of the introduction of new titles. The Battlefield 6 reveal was originally expected for May, but this is now scheduled for June. The announcement of EA Play Live for July means that the DICE shooter will be presented before the showcase.

The chance is high that a part of Battlefield 6 will then be presented at the event in July. The new sports line-up for FIFA 22 or Madden NFL 22 as well as Dragon Age 4, for example, can also be expected from there.
