With some mods you have to look twice to recognize them as the original game. There is now such a case in the 2015 urban planning simulation Cities: Skylines. A gifted modder has set himself the goal of recreating the game world of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The result is extremely impressive Hardly different from Red Dead 2 at first glance and arouses the desire for a really nice western building game. On Steam there is Depravedwhich, however, only provokes mixed reactions from players.
But a real western building game in the world of RDR2, that would have something. It’s best to take a look at Rowendi’s project for yourself before we tell you what the modder is up to with it.

What’s happening now?
Many fans on Reddit immediately asked themselves whether and if so, when you can play this yourself. We therefore got in touch with modder Rowendi and received an answer quickly. Rowendi doesn’t want to promise too much yet because only a small part is finished so far.
“It really motivates me to hear that people love my job. Unfortunately, this project is far from finished. It’s a Wild West project that is heavily inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2, but so far I only have that Heartlands and Valentine completed. “
In the long term, the modder may want to make the project publicly available so that other players can also enjoy it. Rowendi stated:
“The project will likely be available to everyone when I finish it.”
At the moment, the talented modder would prefer not to comment on the mods and assets used.
Can it be played at some point?
Unfortunately not, at least not right. Modder Rowendi explains that Real city-building sim-style gameplay not planned is. It should only serve as a work that is nice to look at.
“It won’t be playable because it’s not made for the ‘vanilla’ game. It’s only meant for the beauty aspect.”
