Earlier this month on May 4, Bungie released a roadmap for Destiny 2: Season 14, Season of the Symbiote, which told fans what to expect from the update, but only revealed part of the content for the season, leaving the rest as surprises for the Guardians to discover. For example, the map revealed that Season of the Symbiote contained an epilogue event, but did not provide any details about it, obviously to avoid spoilers. The event happens on August 10, and that’s the only thing fans know about it, so far.
Today, light.gg, the fan-created Destiny site that acts as a Destiny database, was updated to reveal the potential name of the epilogue event and the accompanying reward, all the information the site obtained through of Destiny 2 data mining. However, the most important details about the mission remain a mystery, as if it will feature another Destiny 2 live event such as Season of the Chosen. With that said, expect spoilers ahead.
According to light.gg, Bungie called the search for the Symbiote epilogue “Enough is enough.” The events reflected by the name remain unclear at this time. However, the payoff that is apparently tied to the We Are Enough triumph is a bit clearer. The reward is the 10th page, the last, of “Beneath the Endless Night”, which is gradually published page by page. “Beneath the endless night”, of course, symbolizes the fact that the Season of the Symbiote sees the Last City plunged into perpetual night by the Vex.
Following only the name of the epilogue quest, it appears that the Vex invasion will occur after the story of Season of the Symbiote concludes. “We are enough” sounds like something someone would say in a situation where they cannot depend on reinforcements, only themselves or whatever allies they have at the moment. In the context of the mission itself, it could mean that the Guardians, the house, and the light will have to defend the Last City from the Vex invasion on their own, even after stopping the Vex simulation.
Naturally, it will be easier to predict what the mission has in store as Destiny 2 season 14 progresses to August 10, but that time is still a long way off. Splicer recently entered its second week of narrative content, so there are still practically two months left before fans learn anything concrete. For now, the Guardians are still working with the House Light Splicer Servant to gather more data on the Vex and subsequently break the endless night.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
