The exact reasons why Capcom didn’t decide to continue with a new episode of Dragon’s Dogma were never known. The game was well received by the public at the time, but the Japanese company would not seem sufficient as it never officially confirmed the development of Dragon dogma 2.
The last details we have of the supposed game would take us to last year, when after a big leak of Capcom documents, we learned that the game was in development and would even arrive in 2022. We have to remember that Capcom does not never came out. corroborate or disprove this information, but now it looks like the rumors have been reactivated and Dragon’s Dogma 2 has returned to the limelight.
Dragon’s Dogma in development and running on the RE engine
It’s pretty safe to assume that most Capcom games that aren’t ports, remasters, or specific engines for some reason use the RE engine. Dragon’s Dogma 2 uses 100% RE Engine, but I’d say that’s not surprising.
In the old days Twilight Golem has been a trusted source of information on all things Capcom and Resident Evil in particular. Despite this, we always reiterate that you take this information with caution until it is officially shared.
