Rainbow Six Siege reveals the North Star Season with Healing Operator and more

Rainbow Six Siege Operators looking for a boost to keep them in battle will find a new source of healing when North star, the second season of its sixth year, launches on Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One. This healer’s name is Thunderbird and she is a new defender from the Nakoda Nation – a North American first nation – who can use her Kóna stations to distribute healings to any player within reach, friend or foe. North star will also include a free Favela map revision as well as some major updates for Melusi, Smoke, Mira, and Maestro.

Thunderbird’s Kóna stations are like little towers, only you don’t mind seeing them spin to point directly at you. That’s because they shoot small balls that improve your health, replenish HP when you’ve taken damage, and temporarily overheal you when you’re already fit as a violin. Now, don’t expect to sneak up to one and just gobble up heals until you’re full. As soon as a Kóna station provides a boost, it will expire and must be recharged before it is ready to be boosted again. Defenders can watch the cooldown icon to see when the Kóna station is ready to heal again, while attackers can look for a cone of blue light that indicates a cure is available. After all, a Kóna station does not differentiate between allies and enemies, so attackers might consider deactivating them with Thatcher’s EMP grenades rather than shooting them down directly. After all, who couldn’t use a little more health when pushing a well-defended side?

Fortunately, Thunderbird is well equipped to deal with any attacker caught healing them. Your primary weapon options are the SPAS-15 shotgun or the Spear .308 assault rifle (fitted with NATO sights for those interested in attachments), while their secondary options are the Q-929 pistol and the Bearing-9 submachine gun (which) are you may want to take a spin after compensators and flash hiders have been tweaked. Top it off with a nitro cell or a blow grenade and you have an excellent operator who can do a lot to assist the defending team.

North star Also provides a free revamp to the favela map, with night falling and fireworks lighting the sky. A massive interior renovation has made most of the exterior wall inaccessible, meaning that the attackers have to rely largely on windows, doors, and two stairwells on the roof to gain access to the building (also no more stair entry on the ground floor). The two floors inside are much more closely connected, resulting in many close-range encounters that come even closer when the defenders invest in demolishing walls to create lines of sight and rotation holes. As long as you don’t spend too much time playing soccer with your scouting drones outside the building, things should be warming up quickly on the new favela map.

Now for the Melusi, Smoke, Mira and Maestro updates:

  • Melusi: Your Banshee devices are now vulnerable to being shot while active, giving attackers another way to deal with their distracting influence.
  • Mira and Maestro: The bulletproof glass on Mira’s black mirrors and Maestro’s evil eyes can now be broken by melee attacks, making it impossible to see through. The bulletproof glass stays in place; The canister on the Black Mirrors can still be pierced to drop the glass, and the Evil Eye can still be opened to shoot lasers, but their Intel usefulness is severely compromised by a melee attack.
  • smoke: An update to gas spread means that the toxic gas from Smoke is now easier to see through and spreads more predictably (rather than going through walls).

There are a few other quality of life improvements to note at North Star. In particular, these corpses disappear after a short time and are replaced by a translucent symbol that indicates which operator died at that point. This is to alleviate problems with bodies appearing in slightly different places for different players in the same game. In addition, a single bullet shot into a destructible wall no longer makes a hole for you to see through. You need to make slightly larger peepholes that may be more noticeable to the opposition. And finally, a new scoreboard update will make your stats look nice and crispy and provide more information on the progress of a game.

All updates mentioned in this article are free, with the exception of Thunderbird. The new operators will be available through the North star Battle Pass, which you can pick up in the Microsoft Store at the start of the new season.

North star coming to Xbox soon siege So, players around the world, start planning how the updates will affect your strategy today.
