Elite Dangerous: Odyssey: False start – Frontier Development apologizes

apologizes, Dangerous, development, Elite, false, Frontier, Odyssey, start

What the heck is wrong with the game developers? Hardly any game comes on the market in a usable condition. The Elite Dangerous expansion Odyssey is no exception and Frontier Development is contrite.

The fact that hardly any game is currently on the market without bugs does not throw a good light on the development studios. Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Outriders … the list of bugged launches is long. The expansion Odyssey for Elite Dangerous, which for the first time allows you to explore the surfaces of the planets, is no exception. Since the launch last week, negative Steam reviews and reports about bugs, crashes and performance problems have increased. There were already two smaller patches, but so far they have only solved a fraction of the problems.

Frontier boss David Braben is now in the official forum apologized for the problems and stated that the studio was aware of the problems and would like to work flat out to correct them: “First and foremost, I would like to apologize wholeheartedly to those who have been suffering from these problems. I would like to reassure you that we take these issues very seriously and that they are our top priority and focus. “

It will be interesting to see whether Frontier Development can quickly get the problems under control. It would be better if other titles like Outriders didn’t go so smoothly. There it took over a month to fix a serious inventory bug.
