Guerrilla Games has announced via Twitter and the official PlayStation blog that this Thursday we will have a new State of play dedicated only to Horizon Forbidden West, the long-awaited sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn that was recently given away on PlayStation Plus.
The Guerrilla title became one of the best sellers in the past generation, surpassing 10 million copies, a full-blown best seller that also ended with an open ending, so it was obvious that we would have a sequel. It was not expected so soon, but the truth is that Forbidden West is still scheduled for 2021 and for PS4, so it is a last generation game.
Aloy is back
However, from Guerrilla they have ensured that the title will also look spectacular on PS5 through backward compatibility. We remember this because one of the criticisms that Sony has received the most is that PS4 games do not run as well on PS5 as Xbox One games on Xbox Series X / S. We’ll have to wait to see how Guerrilla is doing with its PS5 version, if there is one.
We are so excited to show you more of Horizon Forbidden West! This Thursday, May 27, join us on a very special journey into new and uncharted lands.

Horizon Zero Dawn was an open-world title with a huge map, a 20-hour main story, and enough side quests to keep you busy for several hours. This and more is expected from the sequel that has only been seen in cinematic trailers, and that on Thursday’s State of Play would be seen in a 14-minute gameplay video.
We can enjoy the event in Twitch Y YouTube with a pre-show that will begin at 9AM PDT (noon in Latin America), although the event itself will be an hour later. It is unknown what we will be able to see during this pre-show although we imagine that we will hear the developers talking about the title. We might even get lucky and find out the release date.
