Mass Effect Legenday Edition review

Edition, Effect, Legenday, Mass, Review

Legendary Mass Effect Edition, arrives on our consoles so we can once again experience one of the most epic adventures the galaxy has ever seen. This new edition takes us back to Shepard’s story and how humanity crossed impossible frontiers. In the already distant 2007, a trilogy would begin to be forged which has conquered millions of players to date. However, despite the fact that we keep an indelible space in our hearts for this saga, it is true that it could be very tedious to venture into the galaxy after more than a decade.

This is why, in Legendary Mass Effect EditionIt is expected that we will return to walk with pleasure in each of the corners he left us at the time. Above all, that the journey represented by the first opus is pleasant today, more than a decade after its official launch. This remaster has been one of the most desired releases of the past few months, but, Did you manage to please the fans?

Relive history

The first thing we need to mention about this launch is something pretty obvious, but it never ceases to be true. With Legendary Mass Effect Edition, we have the opportunity to relive one of the best space stories ever told. The BioWare team, created in Mass Effect, a saga that does not only have a simply brilliant story. He has great characters who have endured in our memory to this day. In addition to this, new players who wish to enter the saga for the first time, will discover an exciting world, with a really rich history and a game where decisions can be extremely difficult.

In this sense, we must say that Mass Effect it’s as fresh as the first day. From the first to the last game in this compilation, the company has managed to create a spectacular narrative. Which feeds off the aforementioned decision-making that will accompany us game by game. An experience that remains unique.

On the other hand, in this text, we cannot tell you much more about the history of the saga. Since we need to focus on the improvements this review brings, but we couldn’t talk about it Mass Effect, without at least dedicating this little tribute to him.

Mass Effect has more than noticeable improvements

The action and role adventure developed by BioWare, received some really remarkable improvements in this remaster. However, before we delve deeper into each of them, we need to mention the content included in Legendary Mass Effect Edition. This new edition has all three original titles and their downloadable content, although it has two small exceptions. On the one hand, the multiplayer of Mass effect 3, which is not available. On the other hand, the DLC of the first opus says Pinacle Station, is also not available. A small loss but which does not manage to be more than something anecdotal.

Speaking of improvements, we have to start by talking about the original title. And, as we had already anticipated, this first opus is the one that has been the most pampered by the company. Not for less, if at the time you played the original work, you will know that it was already a game at that time quite rough and with some other performance issues. To overcome all this, much more than its technical part has been improved. Which results in playable improvements that bring it closer to what was seen from the second installment.

This is appreciated during fights, getting an improvement in his cover system, as well as better maneuverability of our character and a few other tweaks so that his shooter is smoother. Likewise, the most tedious missions in the game (yes, Mako we are talking to you), have been improved, so that the handling of this vehicle is much less tortuous than in its time.

Another improvement to take into account is the possibility of simplifying the leveling up, this means that instead of having 60 levels, we can choose to have 30. This way each of the level increases will be felt. with much more impact on the game. some battles against certain bosses have been changed to give the player a better experience. However, even with all of this hard work on the part of the team, the game continues to be the one that the years of the entire trilogy have weighed the most on.

Strong technical performance

On the other hand, and to go more directly into the technical plan, we have several aspects to mention. The first concerns the graphics options. As is customary in this type of title, we have the choice between two graphic options; quality and performance. In the X series, the game has a quality mode that gives us a sensational 60 frames per second and a resolution of 4K. If we go for the performance mode, the frames per second will hit a refresh rate of 120, although its resolution will drop to 1440p. In the case of the One X and S Series, the quality mode will give us around 30 fps at 4K resolution. While its performance mode it would go to 1440p and 60fps.

Accompanying all of the above, the game has received a handful of visual enhancements that make the trilogy look better than ever. Without a doubt, one of the most striking improvements is the new lighting system, which makes everything much better than before.. Combat effects, on arrival on new planets, they have been improved thanks to this new system.

In addition, the character models have been changed to look better, something very noticeable in his first installment. In general, the game shows an excellent finish in virtually every facet, although this is true, its animations seem somewhat dated. In addition to all of the above, the sound section of the game has been updated, improving the quality to an already exceptional look at the time.

Ultimately, the legendary edition of Mass Effect…

Finally, talk about Legendary Mass Effect Edition talks about a great compilation that once again brings us one of the best galactic epics we’ve experienced in a video game. The improvements we get in this remaster are more than enough to enjoy this adventure in a unique way. Not only for its obvious graphical improvements, but for all details that have been corrected and adapted. However, his first opus is still quite raw and offers the worst fight of the saga. Despite this, can enjoying these classics at 60 fps and 4K is a luxury that no lover of the saga should miss.

That is why we can only recommend this fantastic edition. IF you liked this analysis, don’t forget that you have many more here.
