From the Gamecube to the PC: Resident Evil is on everyone’s lips right now. The fantastic eighth part got very good ratings and continued the story in an exciting way. The free game of the month sends you on a suitable nostalgia trip with the Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition. Not only high-resolution HD textures are on the agenda, but also smooth 60 FPS, optimization for widescreen formats, sharp text output, objects, characters and backgrounds. In short: Resident Evil 4 is much nicer on the PC than on Nintendo’s Rubik’s Cube.
Not a simple rescue operation: You play Special Agent Leon S. Kennedy, who is sent on a mission to rescue the president’s daughter. His path leads him to a remote village in Europe that has so much more to offer than a scenic idyll. The Las Plagas parasites have infected the entire village, forcing you to fight monsters that are far more dangerous than shuffling, drooling zombies. Real danger awaits you – and then there are the rest of the villagers who belong to a mysterious sect.
Leon the (zombie) professional on a delicate mission
Gripping story: Resident Evil 4 stages its story, as usual for the game series, exciting and intense. You experience quiet moments and brute firefights, intelligent puzzles and extremely dangerous reaction tests. The moments of shock are more selected compared to the predecessors, but then all the more effective. At that time, Resident Evil 4 dropped some of the previous burdens of its predecessors in order to break new ground, such as the freely movable camera.
Big strengths, small weaknesses: In Resident Evil 4 there is also a reunion with old friends. For example, Leon meets Ada Wong, known from the second part, who also goes into the fight against the las Plagas. Leon also needs support, because the level of difficulty can sometimes be demanding. But isn’t that exactly what you’d expect from a Resident Evil? Suspense, tricky puzzles, action, monsters and that nice feeling of “stress” and thrill. Even if the valued President’s daughter can cause headaches at one point or another, Resident Evil 4 is one of the must-have titles of every horror fan.
