Last week, Sony presented the first gameplay from Horizon: Forbidden West as part of a special edition of “State of Play”, but initially there was no release date. Is there any reason to worry that we have yet to postpone it?
Horizon: Forbidden West is set to be one of the most important PS5-exclusive blockbusters this year, but although the release is scheduled for 2021, there is currently no release date. Just last week the first gameplay was shown as part of an edition of “State of Play”, but the expected date was not announced. Could the action hit not come this year after all?
In this regard, it now seems – despite all speculations – to give the all-clear. Developer Guerrilla Games has now spoken out via Twitter and, following the “State of Play”, confirmed that the development is on schedule. No specific release date can be provided at the moment, but they want to provide clarity “very soon”.
In short: fears that Horizon: Forbidden West could miss the release at the end of 2021 appear to be unfounded. There are all kinds of events in June, so Sony may make an announcement in this context together with the developers. We will of course keep you up to date and at this point leave you with the recently released gameplay.
