Some time ago there was a rumor that the classic Mortal Kombat titles could be reissued as part of a bundle. There was something about that, but the work was officially stopped. At least that's what we thought, because suddenly said collection is making an unexpected comeback on the net. So is the package still coming?

Mortal Kombat 11 is the current and, in the meantime, also the most successful part of the brutal Beat'em-Up series, which has had numerous fans for many years. Correspondingly, there was also great interest in the rumors that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment could reprint the first three parts of Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Mortal Kombat 3 as part of the so-called Mortal Kombat Collection Online.
There was never an official announcement, but in 2019 it was confirmed that there was something to be said about the speculation. However, it was then also communicated that the work had been stopped by the contracted developer studio Black Squirrel in 2018. Since then, the bundle has logically disappeared again – until now.
Somewhat surprisingly, the Mortal Kombat Collection Online has now reappeared in a remarkable way. The European PEGI has simply given it an age rating for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One out of nowhere – and that doesn't really fit into a project that was discontinued in 2018 at the moment.
There are increasing indications that the Mortal Kombat Collection Online could still see the light of day with drilled graphics, online features and gameplay optimizations of the original beating game classics. However, an official confirmation is still pending!
