We love Apple’s AirTag, and we think it’s the best Bluetooth tracker you can use if you have an iPhone or Mac. Everytime.
Do you want to attach it to your keys? You will need to purchase a very special keychain. Do you want to attach it to your suitcase? A tag for special baggage. And now there are leashes, pet medallions, blankets and protection for those with an AirTag.
But which one to buy? We’ve tested every possible AirTag accessory to help you find the perfect AirTag sleeve for you.
Apple Leather Keychain for AirTag
There are cheaper alternatives out there, but this is the best AirTag keychain we’ve seen. It’s light, beautiful and luckily very well designed.
It is very easy to put the AirTag inside, but the metal closure will prevent it from escaping. And we like the big and sturdy ring (although quite flat), although we recommend that you try it in store to see if it will fit in your keys (especially if they are car keys).
While the leather covering protects the edges of the AirTag, most of the chassis is exposed, both front and back, so it can get scratched a bit. If you want more protection, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
Belkin Keychain Protector for AirTag
If the Apple Keychain seems overpriced, you might want to consider the cheaper and more fun Belkin alternative.
The ultra-secure closure is made of plastic, which makes it look “cheaper”, but is very sturdy. As with the Apple Keychain, both sides of the AirTag are exposed, but the surrounding plastic protrudes more and offers more protection.
The AirTag is securely secured in the protector with an intelligent “Twist and Lock” locking mechanism. It is available in white, black, pink and blue.
Olixar Protective Keychain for AirTag
And there we have an even cheaper keychain: the Olixar model (available in black and white) costs less than the Belkin keychain and less than a third than the Apple model, and more for two chains. protection keys.
Placing the AirTag in the silicone sleeve is delicate. There is no type of closure, but you have to stretch the edges to place it. But once inside, it’s well protected and arguably offers more protection than Apple’s (it covers the back, but not the front).
The ring is easier to use than the conventional ring, although perhaps a little less secure since it does not have the closure of many carabiners. It’s a basic option, so if you want to spend a bit more you have the leather version as well.
Hermès key ring for AirTag
Before finishing looking at all the keychain options available to us, let yourself be tempted by a luxury item: the Hermès model, available in orange, brown (Fauve) and blue (Indigo Blue).
Most of the accessories in this article don’t include the AirTag, but this one does (and the tracker you take with you will be personalized with the company logo as well). Fantastic.
Apple strap for AirTag
Let’s go for the luggage tags and let’s start with Apple’s base strap, which, unsurprisingly, is also one of the more expensive options.
It is made of polyurethane and looks stylish. There are several colors to choose from, but the sunflower and electric orange models are the most striking. It will also help you find your suitcase more easily.
The AirTag is secured with an easy-to-use metal clasp. Then you will need to attach the strap to the handle of the suitcase. It looks a bit tricky at first glance, but it’s sturdy and should work well in less intense situations.
Like the Apple Keychain, it protects the edge of the AirTag, but not both sides, so expect some scratches. Overall, this is a very Apple item – it works fine, but it’s expensive.
Apple leather strap for AirTag
If you can spend a little more, you might consider purchasing Apple’s leather strap, which is available in brown or red. It is only slightly more expensive, but it looks better than the polyurethane version. And surely, it is also more resistant.
Your decision may be based on the color options. In the leather model, they are not so many and not so bright. But there is the option in red. As always, Apple takes it for granted that those who can spend more have more sober tastes.
Olixar luggage strap for AirTag
The Olixar silicone strap is very similar in design to the Apple model but, unsurprisingly, it is cheaper and that means it uses less luxurious materials as well. It’s a little spongy and it doesn’t look that pretty.
It’s perfectly decent, functional, and a much cheaper alternative, and you always have the option of going for the leather version if you don’t mind spending a bit more.
Belkin Belt Guard for AirTag
Belkin’s ultra-secure closure is also found on this strap protector, which you can use to attach to the handle of a suitcase or purse. Like straps from other manufacturers, it also clips easily into your luggage.
It is available in white, black, blue and pink with a strap of the same color. As the front and back, the strap and the ring can be detached, you can create a multi-colored accessory by mixing the elements.
Hermès luggage tag for AirTag
In the luggage tag department, the collaboration of Apple and Hermès offers a luxury option. It is made of traditional Barenia leather with stitching. It is available in the color you want, as long as it is Fawn (brown).
Like your key ring, the Hermès luggage tag includes a personalized AirTag.
Hermès bag charm for the AirTag
This gorgeous and luxurious bag charm is a bit cheaper than other AirTag accessories from the collaboration between Apple and Hermès, but that doesn’t mean it’s available to everyone, of course.
It comes in three colors (Orange, Indigo Blue and Fawn) and also comes with a custom AirTag included.
Olixar Adhesive Protector for AirTag
If what you want to track doesn’t have a handle to hold the AirTag, or a pocket to store it, you’ll need to find an adhesive solution. These silicone protectors (sold in sets of four) will protect the tracker and can also clip onto objects such as a jewelry box or a game console.
While the design is well disguised, it stands out and is visible, so you might not find it useful to track stolen items (unless you can hide it well). But it’ll be fine for locating remotes and things like that.
Olixar Pet Collar for AirTag
Olixar Anti-Scratch Protector for AirTag
We said at the start that it’s easy for the AirTag to get scratched, and most of the covers in this article expose one or both surfaces, so there’s a chance they might get damaged.
If this is something that worries you, you should consider purchasing a protector (like it is your iPhone’s “screen”). Olixar includes two TPU films in one package, along with alcohol wipes and a cloth for cleaning the AirTag.
