How to cheat in The Sims 4: Getting Started
Open the cheat console
On the PC, press Ctrl + Shift + C to open the cheat console. A text box will appear in the upper left corner of the screen for you to enter and enter cheating commands.
On Xbox One or PS4, press and hold all four shoulder buttons at the same time to open the cheat console.
Enable debugging cheating
Most of the cheats in this list require you to enable testing or debugging cheats in the game to activate. According to my experience, enabling debugging cheating in the background will not interfere with your game in any way. This is a good anti-frustration feature when you really want to cheat quickly.
To enable debugging cheats in your game, enter the following in the cheats console: Test cheating is real.
A notification should appear below the control panel to let you know that cheating is enabled.
You can close them again by typing Test cheating fake.
Money liar
Many players-myself included-can hardly imagine Sims without money to cheat. Even those who emphasize the avoidance of cheat codes in other areas of the game often have no objection to using a few of them at the beginning.
- Kachin: Deposit 1,000 Simoleons into the funds of the active family.
- Mother vein: Deposit 50,000 Simoleons into the funds of the active family.
- money [number]: Set the funds of the active family to a given amount.
- FreeRealEstate on: All residential areas can be moved in freely. (The deposit for the apartment is free, but you still need to pay the rent.)
Character cheats
Change the appearance of Sims
In normal gameplay, “The Sims 4” allows you to re-enter the limited edition Create-A-Sim at any time using a mirror or dressing table. You can use it to change Sims’ clothing, makeup and accessories, hair color and style, etc. Starting with patch 113, you can also edit the likes and dislikes of Sims.
However, you cannot use the mirror to change many things about Sims, including their body shape, facial structure, skin and eye color, characteristics and wishes, gender customization, and so on.
In order to fully re-enter CAS and modify your Sim without restrictions, you need to enable debugging cheats (see above).enter CAS.fulleditmode Go to the cheat console, then Shift + click On your SIM card.You should see a file called CAS full editing modeClicking this button will immediately bring the entire family back to the complete character creator.
Change the Sim’s personality and other character values

Create cheats
Despite the mixed response of the game in other areas, the construction mode of “The Sims 4” has been widely praised as the best in the series so far. However, your creativity still has some limitations that you may wish to remove. Enter the following cheats to give you more freedom in designing the Sim’s world.
- bb.moveobjects: Cancel the restriction on the placement position of the control object. This can easily lead to constructions that Sims cannot actually interact with, but you will find that Sims can still interact with objects in many cases, as long as they are not completely blocked.
- bb.ignoregameplayunlockentitlement: Unlock all career rewards in the build/buy mode. (Please note that it will not unlock career rewards in Create-A-Sim.)
- bb.showhiddenobjects: Enable all debugging items in purchase mode. You can view them by entering the word debug in the build/buy search bar. (You need some patience to search for the one you want, because they all have the same name, so you can’t narrow the search.) Many items, such as fish, plants, etc. Accessed in this way, so the cheat should be considered for decorative purposes only.
- bb.showliveeditobjects: Allows you to access environmental objects, such as vehicles, that can only be seen in areas outside the boundaries during normal games. These items have no in-game functions, but can be used for decoration. You need to turn on Show hidden object cheats (above) before you can see them in purchase mode.
- bb.enablefreebuild: This cheat allows you to edit hidden plots. In The Sims 4, it is any plot that you cannot directly access from the map (including actual secret plots, active professional workplaces, supernatural sub-worlds, and located in Komorebi Mountain peaks). Go to any plot you want to edit and enter this cheat to gain complete build/buy control. This must be done when your active Sim is in the lot you want to edit. You can also use it to edit other Sim houses when visiting other Sim houses and changing regular community plots. Please note that you cannot use this cheat to edit areas that do not belong to many areas, such as public walks between houses in residential areas or shared areas in apartment buildings.
In addition, you can press and hold Shift + [ or Shift + ]. This is not so much a cheating as a hidden feature, but it is very useful at build time.
The resized object retains its functionality. Note that the Sim’s animation when interacting with the object will remain the same, even if it is now larger or smaller than it should be. The results may be funny or disturbing, but they are rarely photogenic.
Camera cheats
These are not so much cheating as they are features that are not easily advertised in the game itself. They remove the user interface of the game, allowing you to move the camera more freely, which is very useful when you are trying to capture a specific photo or game clip. Please note that you cannot actively control your Sims when using these.
- press label Switch Photographer mode. In this mode, you can zoom in and out farther than in normal games, and pan to view the current community area that is usually hidden off the screen.
- press Shift + Tab Switch First-person mode. Your view will now be the view of Sim you currently control. Although the “camera” is now where the Sims’ head is when they move, you are completely free to rotate your field of view in ways that are not naturally possible. In other words, you can rotate your “your” head 360 degrees on all axes (it is very disturbing to find yourself looking down at your back).
Quality of life scam
There are many debugging tips in The Sims 4. As mentioned in the character cheats above, once you enable the test cheats, you will be surprised how many things in the game can be shift-clicked to view their debugging functions. There are too many details about them, but here are some of my favorites:

Ecological lifestyle: abolish NAP immediately
If you have installed Eco Lifestyle EP, you may find that some of the Neighbourhood Action Plans (NAPs for short) introduced in the package are great! Other…not so many.
I’m mainly talking about sharing as a caring nap, which allows NPCs to cut anything that is not fixed and most things that are fixed. (I don’t know how Francine Spencer managed to fit a complete counter into her back pocket, but she did it, and now I need to buy a new one.) But in reality, any NAP can be annoying if it is sneaky Let yourself vote in a block, and you role-play in a very different way.
