Six months after taking the plunge with its video editing applications, Adobe announced that Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom Classic now run natively on M1 chip Macs. Together with Photoshop, these applications already form the set that many designers and photographers use in their daily lives.
Day or night: Illustrator works up to 390% faster with complex files
No halftones: Adobe promises Up to 65% yield increase in Illustrator and up to 59% in InDesign. In the latter program, actions such as opening large files are 185% faster. Scrolling through a complex 100-page document is also 78% faster, and all on a chip that uses a fraction of the power of Intel chips.
Improvements in Illustrator are even more amazing with a performance improvement of 390% scrolling complex vector files and 119% improvement when opening large files. In other words, anyone with a Mac with an M1 chip will no doubt notice these updates from Adobe.
The company has started rolling out these new versions of Illustrator and InDesign, and will soon expand to all users. To be able to use them, you must have a Creative Cloud subscription that starts at $ 725.88 per year or $ 90.74 per month.
