In December of last year we received confirmation of a new indie title for Nintendo Switch. It was about Death end re;Quest. This title has been available since last December 24 in the Japanese eShop of the console and in the West since last April 27.
Well, we get good news for their fans and that is Compile Heart has announced Death end re; Quest 2 for Nintendo Switch and will launch later this year in Japan..

Mai Toyama seeks an escape from her traumatic past. He enrolls in Wordsworth, a female residence located in the small, mountainous town known as Le Choara, where his sister, Sanae, is rumored to have been last seen. Hopeful, Mai tries to find her relative, but soon encounters some terrifying inhabitants who lurk throughout the town at dusk. At night, the streets of Le Choara fill with Shadow Matter, a hideous group of menacing creatures. Around every cobbled corner, Mai discovers that her hope of finding her sister lies under the long-buried secrets that haunt Le Choara.
Main features:
- The Enemy Life Destruction System is an additional feature that allows characters to rack up damage above enemies’ health for additional experience. Try to deal as much damage as possible to all monsters to get bigger rewards.
- Watch out for the Berserker – During dungeon exploration and battle, a faceless black figure will appear out of nowhere. The figure will also show an attack area once it appears. Mai and her team must move away from the Berserker’s area of attack, as he will instantly kill anyone with a single hit. Run away from the Berserker in the dungeon or defeat all existing monsters on the battlefield to escape.
- Day and Night – Mai will have to explore the town of Le Choara during the day and talk to the townspeople to find clues as to where her sister is. At night, Mai will fight dark stylized creatures in a turn-based RPG. Experience the story through the lens of a visual novel during the day and battle hideous creatures at night.
- Don’t Call It Hit – The hit system is back in Death end re; Quest 2, but this time Mai and her team can hit Shadow Matter even harder! Combine your attacks by throwing monsters at other members of the group.
At the moment it is unknown if this second installment will reach the West, but it is likely that it will, taking into account that the first one is available.
