Wired Productions and LKA teamed up with IGN Expo to showcase an official trailer for Martha Is Dead that showcases the creepy power of Tarot cards.
Ahead of E3 weekend is IGN Expo and developers presenting their projects include Wired Productions and LKA, who officially showed off a new trailer for Martha is Dead.
The new trailer for Martha is Dead that was shown during the IGN Expo told the story of The White Lady who wanders restlessly on a lake. The story is told by a mother to a daughter named Julia and includes several pop-up sections along with lurid depictions of the characters in the story. The trailer also features the creepy puppets that have been featured in previous Martha is Dead trailers.
The White Lady was once a girl who drowned in the lake and now she is looking for other girls to drag into the lake. The White Lady was drowned by a former lover who was hanged in the middle of the lake for his crimes. The White Lady’s body has never been found, but the mother who tells Julia the story seems familiar with the pain she endured. This spirit stalks a lake in Marth is Dead and can be summoned through a dark ritual using tarot cards on an island in the lake.
Most of the official Martha is Dead trailer that was shown during IGN Expo focuses on The White Lady and the lake she inhabits, but a short part of the trailer focuses on mysterious tarot cards. The playable character from Martha is Dead put a blue and white shirt, presumably that of The White Lady’s former lover, on the ground near a beach on the lake island. Flipping over a tarot card with the image of a hanging woman, the White Lady appears from the lake and stretches upward to catch anyone nearby and drag them into the depths of the lake.
IGN Expo is just one of several events planned for this summer, and E3 will kick off on June 12. E3 will also bring various announcements and new trailers this weekend, giving players multiple events to tune in and celebrate. Martha is Dead doesn’t have an official release date, but it seems like a particularly scary game for horror enthusiasts to watch out for later this year. Last year’s IGN Summer of Gaming was coined as a mini-E3 and the IGN Expo also came prepared with reveals this year.
Martha is Dead will be released later this year for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S.
