Even if in terms of video games it was already a phenomenon with three titles developed by CD Projekt Red, after the success of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, The Witcher lives a third youth thanks to the series produced by Netflix.
The first teaser for the second season aired recently, which was due to air this year after the Covid delays, although there is no confirmed date yet. Again we will see the adventures of Geralt (Henry Cavill), Yennefer (Anya Cholatra) and Ciri (Freya Allan), although apparently this time there will be no time jumps like in the first season, since the protagonists have already been introduced.
The second season will actually adapt the third book, “Blood of the Elves”, released in 1994 after the collection of short stories from The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny.
More The Witcher on TV and in Video Games
In addition to the teaser, it has been confirmed that Netflix and CD Projekt Red to host a joint event on July 9 called WitcherCon
It looks like the success of the series could rekindle CD Projekt Red’s interest in continuing to exploit the video game license. Who wants a The Witcher 4?
