Summer brings a new racing game for gamers around the world to enjoy, in the form of F1 2021, the latest installment in EA’s popular F1 series. Not only will this new edition have the added benefit of releasing on next-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S, but it’s also a bit of a review of the franchise itself, at least as far as its various modes are concerned. of campaigns.
F1 2021 will have the largest story mode of all the games in the series to date, along with a two-player career mode and various other features that have not been present in previous installments. On Wednesday, EA and Codemasters revealed a new trailer for F1 2021 showing all the new features coming to the game. You can see it in the video above!
At a recent press conference for the game, F1 franchise director Lee Mather spoke about the dramatic story that will be at the heart of Braking Point’s story mode. This will start his player, Aiden Jackson, on the Formula Two circuit, on a mission to reach the highest level of the sport.
“So you start in Formula Two, again, it’s a journey story, starting as Aiden Jackson, a promising young driver, completing his Formula Two career, entering the world of Formula One in the 2020 season before finally moving in in 21 and graduating as a full-fledged Formula One driver, “said Mather. “It’s not just about Aiden, there are other characters there. So we also have a character named Casper Ackerman. Ackerman is a more mature driver. He’s reached the end of his career and he’s fighting demons like he should still be in the sport for himself. And, of course, there are also the team leaders. You have to have a team leader who is important for the operation of the team, the management of the drivers ”.
Mather also touched on the return of fan-favorite villain Devon Butler, who was shown in the new trailer.
“Something I haven’t mentioned is the return of Devon Butler. So when we did the feeder series in F2, 2019, Devon instantly became a star, “said Mather. “We put a lot of time and effort into building a villain, so to speak, and he came back in this really continues to show his true colors. So we are very excited to see how people deal with the story, how they enjoy the interaction between the characters, but also the visual spectacle that I think we created for this. “
F1 2021 is coming July 16 to Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
