Obsidian Entertainment has detailed the Grounded Shroom and Doom update, which will introduce major changes to buildings and add the first boss to the game.
The Shroom and Doom update for the grounded co-op survival game was revealed during E3 2021 in Xbox and Bethesda game showcase, showing lots of new content that will arrive at the end of June. The update, which will introduce the first boss of the game Yes improvements in construction mechanics, is part of the change of Obsidian entertainment, which went from frequent small updates to occasional Grounded updates with more content.
Obsidian launched Grounded in Early Access in July 2020, with a full release slated for a later date. During its early access state, Obsidian provided fixes and new content, including updating the koi pond and the addition of bees and mosquitoes. Update Champi and Doom intends to keep adding fun changes to the game, like pets in the form of insects, the possibility to sit on chairs and much more.
during Extensive Xbox game showcase, the game director, Adam brennecke, and the community manager, Aarik Dorobiala, they talked at length about the update. Brennecke explained that mushrooms will play a fundamental role in building structures, as players will now be able to collect mushrooms of any size, which will become “Mushroom stuff” which will need to be crushed and baked to create mushroom bricks. These mushroom bricks can be used for build more fortified structures in Grounded, with the possibility of building castles and other fortresses.
The Shroom and Doom update will introduce the first Grounded boss: the Brood Mother, an imposing spider which players will have to defeat using your most powerful team. Brennecke explained that the brood mother was originally included in Grounded at the time of launch, but the team felt it was not “Reach the point”, so it has been removed and adjusted to present a more appropriate challenge.
Brennecke said the team are looking forward to listen to community feedback about this first boss and urged players to voice their opinion on the difficulty level and rewards to improve future bosses. While Adam Brennecke and the Obsidian team continue to add significant changes to Grounded like those found in the Shroom and Doom update, gamers should have a lot to look forward to when the game is fully released.
The update Grounded’s Shroom and Doom will be available for consoles Xbox and PC on June 30, 2021.
