Electronic Arts announced the new Madden NFL 22 tonight. The next part of the long-standing and successful American football series will be released in August and will have two Super Bowl champions on the cover.
Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers may be THE story of the NFL offseason, but last year’s league MVP didn’t make it onto the cover of the new Madden NFL 22. On the packaging of the now officially announced new part, EA Tiburon will present two Super Bowl champions.
One of the two is of course Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy in February. At his side is the much younger Patrick Mahomes, who won the Super Bowl the year before with his Kansas City Chiefs, but lost out to Brady this year.
Apart from that, the new Madden NFL 22 should take full advantage of the new consoles for the first time. Thanks to the new Dynamic Gameday feature, you should be drawn into the emotion and unpredictability of the NFL more than ever. No matter which mode you choose: This should make the games feel fresher overall and have more strategic depth and storytelling to offer.
Specifically, Dynamic Gameday brings three new functions: Gameday Atmosphere, Gameday Momentum and Next Gen Stats: Star-Driven AI. Gameday Atmosphere lets you immerse yourself in a denser fan atmosphere through crowds, environments and presentation elements that enhance and influence every game.
The new, performance-based mechanics of Gameday Momentum, including Home Field Advantage, are intended to bring the dynamics of the game noticeably to life by recreating individual stadium conditions. Next Gen Stats: Star-Driven AI is equipped with real player data that evolves over the course of the season and influences the behavior of the AI and the tendencies of the teams.
The Franchise Mode in Madden NFL 22 is designed to make you feel more connected and in control of your team – with more detailed personnel management and skill tree progression, as well as a comprehensive weekly game strategy and revised season engine. Franchise will continue to receive improvements through several live service updates throughout the year.
Madden NFL’s newest mode, The Yard, features an all-new single player campaign and avatar progression system that shares progress, rewards and more with Face of the Franchise. Face of The Franchise returns with a new story, a player class system and the ability to play as a linebacker on the defensive side for the first time. With Superstar KO, the multiplayer mode is expanded to include NFL teams from the real world. Madden Ultimate Team will also deliver a new season of content, including mid-term adjustments for Superstar X-Factors, and incorporating Next Gen Stats to track stats for player items.
Madden NFL 22 is being developed by EA Tiburon and will be released on August 20th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC and Stadia.
