Sony wants more cross-play titles on PlayStation

When cross play or ‘cross play’ – the possibility of multiplayer games between various consoles and platforms – began to become fashionable about four years ago, Sony PlayStation became its worst enemy. The refusal of this company to allow players who do not use their consoles to play with those who do is well documented. It generated so much criticism that Sony eventually reluctantly allowed it for titles like Fortnite Y Rocket League. Despite that, it is well known that it continues to hinder the matter and some developers report a lack of collaboration from the company for this.

As an example we have Gearbox, which recently announced that Borderlands 3 will have cross-play between all platforms except PlayStation (PS4 and PS5).

However, the company insists that it wants to see more titles that allow cross-play on its PlayStation consoles. During an interview with Axios, Jim Ryan – CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment – said that “Support and encourage cross-play”. He mentioned titles that already allow it, such as recent Call of Duty, and others that will receive this feature soon, such as Destiny 2.

We’ll see if this is true as more titles come out that support this feature. At the moment, his past does not speak very well.
