Fuchsia OS has been playing for years, like this assumption cross-platform operating system that will eventually replace Android. It seems to be slowly evolving, but it’s already a reality, having recently arrived on the first-gen Google Nest Hub.
With this update, quite interesting, everything is the same, although Fuchsia OS comes with a new microkernel and with some internal changes. Google has published information for find out if your Nest Hub has Android or Fuchshia, since the system does not display the name explicitly.
How to tell if the Nest Hub has Android or Fuchsia
Google has shared instructions on its support page for find out if our Google Nest Hub has Android or Fuchsia, something we can find out by means of a little extra line in the device settings.
- Open your Nest Hub settings
- Go to “Device Information”
- Here you will see the software version and the version
- Scroll down to the bottom of this page
- If the line “operating system version” appears, you have installed Fuchsia
In short, only if you have that latest OS version line will you know if your Nest Hub is running Fuchsia. The update, for the moment, only reached a few users, although it will eventually reach the rest in the coming months.
With the update of Fuchsia OS, a non-Linux-based operating system and with the support of big names like Samsung and Huawei, Google is leading the way in its cross-platform operating system. Who knows if we’ll see it on cell phones any time soon.
