While all efforts are focused on developing Overwatch 2, the exit window of which has still not been set (and has certainly been delayed by the pandemic), Blizzard continues to keep players waiting for some news on its FPS.
Starting today, players on PC and Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch consoles can finally get together to play games with friends. However, in order to maintain competitive integrity, Overwatch will not have full crossplay in competitive games, only between players on consoles (we’re still waiting for this award for other competitive games!).
And a new challenge
However, this does not involve cross-progression, so players with a copy on different media will continue to expand their collection regardless of which version. Further information on crossplay can be found in a well-sorted FAQ this address.
Blizzard took the opportunity to introduce the Deadlock Challenge that focuses on Ashe. By winning games within a time limit, players will achieve milestones by winning exclusive cosmetic items. It will also be possible to get nice tags by watching live streamers. The challenge ends on July 5th, so now is the time to get started!
