Bowl of Blood 3, is the latest version that reaches us in the rich universe of War hammer. From the hand of Cyanide Yes Nacon comes the third installment of this fantastic world in which the fantastic creatures of War hammer, put aside the war to immerse yourself in a football match, a little more violent than the current one. With this premise, the original board game was created in 1987. Over time, this curious adaptation has continued to grow until it reaches the world of video games.

In this sense, one of the companies that gave it the most impetus was Cyanide. The French team is responsible for adapting the board game to video games. Today thanks to Nacon, we were able to make a few passes, break some skulls and have fun with this third part. Although we were only able to play its closed beta, it gave us very good feelings. A graphic leap

The first thing that catches the attention of this third part is the graphic evolution that the franchise is experiencing. And is that the modeling of the characters is more beautiful than ever, as well as their animations. This is really important, because the spectacular nature of War hammer it is more than present in the title. Also, the personalization, which is one of the key elements of the board game, is very neat. Allowing us to modify the colors and appearance of our players, our emblem, the cheerleaders or even modify the stadium.

In the beta version that we had access to, we were able to take advantage of three races, Black Orcs, The Imperial Nobility and Elven Union. Although we know that the number of races will increase, we must mention that currently each of these factions offers us a different playstyle and each of their units has a good level of detail. In general, the game has improved a lot compared to its predecessor in this regard.

Before we start our game, we will need to perform some procedures such as hiring players or other employees such as cheerleaders. Of course, for this we will need to have gold in our treasury, so at first our actions will be quite limited

A match to the death

In general, the matches of Bowl of Blood 3, they very much respect the essence of the board game. This means that we have a turn-based system that mixes the mechanics of the world of American football, with all the fantastic skills that come from War hammer. In this sense, we find a very wide variety of actions that extend to each of the races, as well as to their players.. That is why, to get the most out of a team, we will need to know the skills of each race and each player. Thus generating a good feeling for the player.

Its turn-based system has several variables to take into account, one of them is movement, which is done via movement points, which will allow us to advance to either square. Having said that, the actions we can perform are based on the aforementioned board game, so in the vast majority of cases a dice roll will be performed.

This is why we have a tutorial, although in its beta it is not fully implemented and left us with some other questions that we resolved while playing. Bowl of Blood 3, offers us many playable possibilities, which fans of the board game will appreciate since the game faithfully represents what we would see on our board. Without a doubt, this beta left us with a great taste in our mouths and we believe that Cyanide’s line of work will guarantee us a good quality title.
