New plane
The improvements to the game world of Flight Simulator are not the only new thing in World Update 6. The patch also includes a new aircraft, the Junkers Ju-52, nicknamed “Aunt Ju”. The transport aircraft from the Dessau manufacturer Junkers was produced from 1932 to 1952 and a variant was also used as a bomber during the Second World War.

Why now?
To generate the world, the Flight Simulator relies on satellite data from Bing Maps, which are displayed three-dimensionally in the game with the help of AI technology. However, this also leads to errors, for example huge obelisks appeared in the landscape in the past. There are also many inaccurately translated buildings to be found at the moment.
Therefore, the developers are gradually adding manual improvements to important sights and airports in the major world updates. In the last world update 5 for the flight simulator, everything revolved around the Scandinavian region.
