It looks like Sony may soon announce another studio acquisition-if PlayStation Japan’s tweet is accurate.
Earlier today, PlayStation Japan Twitter tweeted “Welcome to this family” regarding Sony’s acquisition of Housemarque.Attached to the picture Tweets now deleted The Bluepoint Game logo is displayed instead of Housemarque (thanks to Gematsu).
This makes many people believe that Sony has also acquired the “Dark Souls” remake developer Bluepoint. The image in question shows other PlayStation Studios games such as Returnal, Days Gone, The Last of Us Part 2, which includes Demons Souls.
Another “welcome family” image Sony earlier on Twitter Regarding the Housemarque news, it did not show the Demon Soul contained in other games.
This may be a mistake by Sony Japan-or they revealed the news earlier than planned.
Either way, we must wait for Sony to confirm or deny this news to be sure. We will update this article with any other information.
Since last fall, rumors about the acquisition of Bluepoint Games have been circulating on the Internet and reappeared in February. At that time, someone said whether Sony included the studio “if” but “when”.
Bluepoint and Sony have a long history. They have remade “God of War” and “God of War 2” for the God of War series, “Ico and Shadow of the Colossus” series, “Flower”, “Uncharted Sea: Nathan Drake” series, etc. Games, including Uncharted 1-3, and Gravity Dash.
It is also the studio responsible for Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
