Game news Palia: Singularity 6 studio is a great fundraiser to do their MMO
On the sidelines of E3, Singularity 6, a development studio made up of alumni from Riot Games, Blizzard and Zynga, announced its first project: Palia. The game is still in its infancy and has just received a pretty significant boost.
It’s through The Holllywood reporter that we learn that the Singularity 6 Studio just plugged in the proud sum of $ 30 million after a fundraiser
At the investor table we find FunPlus Ventures, but also Mitch Lasky, a former entrepreneur and video game manager who worked with Activision.. A welcome addition to the MMO that mixes influences from Zelda: Breath of the Wild to Animal Crossing and Genshin Impact.
What convinced the COO of FunPlus Ventures was the fact that Palia goes beyond the scope of video games. According to him, the game is more like ” a social space where players can find a sense of community and make friends ».
This economic contribution puts the hearts of the Singularity 6 teams at ease, especially since the game was well received when it was unveiled. The CEO also announced that the team felt “fulfilled” and had indulged in a few statements.
The incredible response from the community has reinforced our desire to offer an immersive online world where players really feel at home. Creating this experience may seem daunting, but with all the support and encouragement we’ve received, we are supported more than ever.
As a reminder: In Palia you play a human, a long-extinct species that will (again) learn to live with the flora and fauna around them.. MMO committed, you will meet many other players who, like you, will try to be successful by becoming gardeners, cooks, adventurers and much more!
As you meet, you bring a community to life, even start friendships or romances, and take part in a whole host of activities. Note that combat is absolutely not mandatory when there are creatures in the game: what matters most in Palia is community life.
At the moment, Palia is only in a pre-alpha phase that can be tested on the PC in summer 2021.
