In recent years, there have been an increasing number of horror games, and more and more players are enjoying “having a hard time”. If a study has succeeded in releasing several of these video games, it is the Polish studio Bloober Team, at the origin of very good games of the genre like Layers of Fear or the recent The Medium.
The studio has gained a bit of popularity in recent days due to a recently signed collaboration deal with Konami which, while we don’t have official confirmation in this regard, appears to be tied to Silent Hill. The studio doesn’t just have this open facade, and we now know they would be working on at least 3 unannounced titles.
Bloober Team would develop Layers of Fear 3
This information comes from the forum Reset, where we can see the code name of these Bloober Team projects, followed by a somewhat cryptic description but with some rather interesting details. The first of these titles is called “H2O”, and it would be Layers of Fear 3. It would be a project that would be based on the experience of the previous Layers, providing the player with a great deal of emotion and a quality narrative.
The second of these games, named “Black” would be a title with a first person perspective that contains elements of exploration, combat and survival. The description also talks about interacting with other characters and a certain element of decision-making, which would lead to several different endings. Plus, it looks like the game would always put us in situations where we’d be outnumbered, so the smarter option would be stealth. It looks like it would take place in an unconventional Middle Ages where alieni could appear
The latter is called Dum Spiro, whose name comes from the Latin expression “dum spiro, I hope”, which means “while I breathe, I wait”. This is perhaps the one that provokes the most unknowns, and we will play the part of a child living in a Jewish ghetto from World War II. This description doesn’t talk about any kind of gameplay element, but it makes it clear that the decision-making will carry a very heavy weight.
These descriptions don’t really allow us to see what type of game one of the 3 will be (maybe a little Layers of Fear 3), but of course it’s a good symptom of the current state of Bloober Team, which went from being a small study to become one of the most important in Europe.
