The first volume of ‘Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season’ is out now in Japan and fans are already witnessing the improvements in animation brought by the DVD and Blu-Ray version.
It is no secret to anyone that the season that the MAPPA studio took in its hands suffered great criticism from its audience throughout the transmission of its 16 episodes in December 2020.
From the excessive use of CGI, problems with the character designs, the lack of fluidity of the battles and even how the adaptation changed the great moment of Eren putting on the coat, they were the most talked about.
The good news is that some of these moments changed for the better in the home version, based on the images you uploaded to Twitter user g6xa3awstGCEljS, comparing scenes from the broadcast that were modified on the Blu-ray.
Being its first volume, the chapters that we can see so far are from 1 to 8, showing improvements in the design of Mikasa and Eren’s faces, and they changed some of the scenes in CGI to 2D animation.
Here in episode BD7 of “Attack on Titan The Final”, the CG is hand painted.

Another detail that did not go unnoticed is the change in the color of the lights emitted by the lightning spears when they are activated, going from yellow to intense blue fire, remembering that in their composition they have an explosive ice stone.
While the 3DCG in battles is still present, the Titans received improvements in some scenes, such as the face of the armored titan and the body and face of the attack titan by the time the assault on Marley begins.
