Owners of a PlayStation 5 can give their console another update. Sony has updated the platform’s firmware again.
In June there was again a more comprehensive update for the firmware of the PlayStation 5. At that time, major bug fixes were introduced into the system. In contrast, the latest patch of the system software is now noticeably less extensive.
Since today you can download the new firmware version 21.01-03.21.00 to your PlayStation 5. This is a 902 MB download that starts automatically when you have left your PS5 in Rest mode. But you shouldn’t expect too big changes, at least not those that would be directly apparent.
As an official description of the implemented changes, Sony only specifies an “improved system performance”. How this expresses itself specifically and in individual cases is not known. However, the new firmware does not include changes to the UI or other innovations that would be visible in optical form.
