While the spotlight of the confirmed elites was recently on the unannounced Final Fantasy VII remake portion. 2, producer Naoki Yoshida took advantage of an event designed to prepare for the arrival of Endwalkers, the new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, to push some (or two) into the sixteenth episode number.

Reports from the still very enthusiastic Twitter account @aitaikimochi, Father Yoshida’s words sound like a little roller coaster ride, even though the event would only have been held in Japanese.
Disagreements
Now that E3 is behind us and Final Fantasy XVI shone there because of its absence, the question of the Tokyo Game Show obviously arises. And if Square Enix seems to have chosen to honor the essential video game industry meeting in the archipelago, the producer is not the most enthusiastic, stating:
Yoko Taro & Saitou joking with Yoshi-P that Final Fantasy 16 is unlikely to be shown at the 2021 Tokyo Game Show is epic troll level lol.
Yoshi-P says he wants FF16 to be available not too long after the next big announcement.

We really want to show something at the Tokyo Game Show 2021, but we probably won’t be able to keep the date (laughs). We’d like to have the opportunity, but it would be better if you could play it right after, right?
Personally, I don’t like it when you give information in a trickle to trick the players into believing something is going on. I’ve talked a lot with the crew and director Hiroshi Takai about this: we want to reveal content so that people say, “I want to play it NOW!” And we can answer, “Of course, the game is available”. . But I know that Square Enix, as a publisher, wants to at least show it at the Tokyo Game Show.
The message was there, however, and Yoshida to specify the plot of Final Fantasy XVI is now set in stone and the dubbing of the English version will be finished soon. This is surely enough to reassure players that the project is progressing well.
If nothing can be decided at the moment about the hypothetical presence of the game at the Tokyo Motor Show, it will at least make it possible to find out which publisher or manufacturer ultimately won the case. Because if the second wins, the next trailer should precede an upcoming release …
Final Fantasy XVI is surely expected on PlayStation 5 one day.
