Now that I've drawn your attention to this beautiful topic, it's time to do one of these personal articles that some readers love to read and others don't. If regars visit Andro4all, you will know that I am using Apple devices for my present day as I explained in this article that good reception – I am really thankful, I was expecting a lot of hate – my time off work and work. I appreciate it Apple has an ecosystem that meets all my needs, so for now I have no intention of changing.
But the fact is that they were not always the same. My first real go with smartphones is thanks to Google and its Android app. I soon fell in love (and still love) with the little green robot, but most of all, I liked everything Google did. His smartphones, his tablets, his chromebooks, his gadgets … after trying other types of products I realized that I really liked everything Google had done around him. However, no king reigns forever.
Reasons why I stopped using Google products only
We move on to the period 2013-2017. Google's trusted protector and all of its products and services, that the customization layers were awesome and that it was only worth Android stock, that Chrome OS had made me forget Windows and that there was no life without G applications and services.
It was a great time and I have owned some great past devices like that Nexus 5, Nexus 5X, Nexus 7 tablet or Chromebook. In short, my first Nexus 5 (a good terminal, a disaster camera and a battery) had to go out when it had to be charged twice or thrice a day. Nexus 7 died as soon as Google started updating it. Tragedy after another that made it an unpopular product and that J.K.I also became one of the fast puzzles that surprised us. Nexus 5X died a year of use, that famous bootloop problem with no solution (you can see the video of the recording I recorded a few lines below) and on the Chromebook …
Google believes that Chromebooks have no marketplace over the United States and the United Kingdom. My particular model, the Acer C720, was determined to be incompatible with Google Play Store apps, what would give him many more years of life
I mean three were causes that has caused me to lose faith in Google Hardware:
- Leave center for Android phones (up to third pixel)
- Get off the boat the tablet market
- Imagine computers with ChromeOS they serve only the field of education
The three deadly sins that have kept me from buying products on Google and the fact that some devices like the Pixel 3a seemed to me to be even better last year. It's clear that Google makes more money with software, apps (which I use every day on my iPhone) and advertising than using Hardware, but the image left by the Mountain View company is: Buy our beautiful products even though we don't know when we will leave it on the sidelines.
Just two months ago, Google's latest big bet, Stadia, was launched. The videogame platform with its lights and shadows aims to revolutionize the market and although difficult to access, it can be a great place for large traditional companies. We hope Stadia will live for many years or we will ensure what most of us get, that Google took the hardware war to lose.
